Contrasts during this summer

This summer I felt it was different from any other. Normally, I would be riding and doing crazy things. However, I have been focusing on trying to slow down, focus on my family and survive in a massive city that would love to consume you. I haven’t had many chances to go out and take photos because this year the heat has also been intense, to the point that I got chronic dehydration.

So, just by going out, I was feeling down, dizzy and with no energy. Temperatures have actually not been high, but the humidity is the killer. A place that I like to go quite often is in the city centre, an area called the Macro Plaza. You can see the city hall here, lots of green areas with benches and people, plus a pedestrian road which is full of shops.

I would say that I felt inspired by Alan Schaller and Roman Fox with their videos and pictures, the high contrasts that you can see in Alan Schaller’s book. My objective, at least this summer, was to find places where I could find the lights and shadows that would let me create a story in the camera.

Meanwhile, the weather improves, my chances to take picture are more closed to the city centre. And I expect that towards October, the opportunities to take pictures of nature and wild animals can increase.
